4 note enclosures!
Bebop!!!! The bebop language is full of enclosures. An enclosure is simply a target note that is preceded by a note above and below the target. So (without overthinking it)…when I refer to 4 note enclosures…I mean a target note that is preceded by 4 notes. In the first 8 bars of the example below, the half note is the target note.

In the exercise, we apply the 4 note enclosure to every note of the major scale. Then…we play it as one continuous pattern.
I was able to sneak the continuous pattern on the video below around the :49 second mark!
